University of Colorado Boulder Adopts Aeon to Enhance Management of Rare and Archival Collections
Virginia Beach, VA — The University of Colorado Boulder proudly joins a global network of nearly 120 institutions in adopting Aeon, a leading software platform designed for managing access and requests for rare and archival materials. This advancement will enable the University of Colorado Libraries Rare and Distinctive Collections (RaD) to significantly enhance their support for the University's teaching and research missions.
RaD at the University of Colorado Boulder Libraries encompasses four specialized collections: rare books and manuscripts, archives, government information, and maps. Additionally, RaD provides a comprehensive range of services, including an in-person reading room, a robust instruction program, and specialized research assistance.
The integration of Aeon will centralize operations for the RaD staff, leading to more efficient management of researcher requests and processing queues. It will also enhance tracking of materials across multiple storage locations and offer detailed usage analytics. With Aeon, the University anticipates increased operational efficiency, enhanced security, and improved control over special collections materials, facilitating better-informed program planning for both current and future needs.
Congratulations to the University of Colorado Boulder on the successful implementation of Aeon. We warmly welcome them to the Aeon Community.
