The University of Alabama is Live using Aeon
Virginia Beach, VA — The University of Alabama joins a global network of nearly 120 institutions to adopt Aeon to streamline access and request management of rare and archival materials.
The University of Alabama Libraries Special Collections is committed to acquiring, processing, preserving, and making available primary sources and other rare materials that support the teaching and research missions of the University of Alabama. Explore their collections on Southern history and culture; exploration and settlement of territory in the Gulf of Mexico; Civil War and Reconstruction; slavery, abolition, and emancipation; and African American history with special emphasis on the Civil Rights Movement.
Aeon will centralize operations for Special Collections staff to manage researchers, facilitate processing queues and tracking of materials across multiple storage locations, and generate collection usage analytics. The efficiencies and security provided by Aeon will provide control over special collections materials and inform program planning now and in the future.
We wish the University of Alabama congratulations on completing their implementation, and we welcome them to the Aeon Community.
