Atlas Systems Becomes an ArchivesSpace Registered Service Provider
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – December 22, 2015 – Atlas Systems, the leading provider of time-saving solutions for libraries, announced today that the company has joined the ArchivesSpace community as a Registered Service Provider. ArchivesSpace is an open source web application for recording, managing, and disseminating information about archival materials.
Commenting on the new relationship, Atlas president Jason Glover said, “As Aeon continues to grow and address the fulfillment and workflow needs of special collections and archives, we are increasingly looking for partnerships that benefit our customers. A majority of our Aeon users have adopted ArchivesSpace for their collection management needs. Becoming a Registered Service Provider demonstrates our commitment to providing support for the ArchivesSpace community.”
Glover noted there are several potential service opportunities in the relationship with ArchivesSpace, including contributing modules for Aeon integration with ArchivesSpace; ArchivesSpace hosting for Aeon customers; and implementation and consulting services. “Our goal is to make integration with ArchivesSpace as seamless as possible for members of our Aeon community,” Glover said.
According to Brad Westbrook, ArchivesSpace program manager, “Atlas Systems’ decision to become an ArchivesSpace Registered Service Provider stands to benefit both the ArchivesSpace and Aeon user communities. Integrating Aeon will extend the utility of ArchivesSpace for ArchivesSpace members that use Aeon and may encourage other ArchivesSpace users to adopt Aeon.
“Having Atlas Systems as a Registered Service Provider will give ArchivesSpace users the choice of another hosting vendor and source of technical and training support,” he added.
