Rob Herrmann Joins Atlas Systems
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – October 1, 2019 – Atlas Systems, the leading provider of time-saving solutions for libraries, special collections, and archives announced today that Rob Herrmann joined the management team as Vice President, Marketing and Sales. In this role, Herrmann will set the strategic direction for business development for Atlas’ products and oversee the development and implementation of product marketing and sales plans.
In announcing Herrmann’s new role, Atlas Systems’ Chief Financial Officer Dan Specht said, “Atlas Systems continues to grow in the number of customers we serve and the range of products we offer. From basically one product—ILLiad—we now offer five products as well as a full suite of customer support services. To allow me to focus full-time on my expanding responsibilities as CFO, we began the process of finding a new vice president of marketing and sales who shares our values and commitment to libraries and our customers. Rob brings a wealth of experience with libraries and library software to the Atlas team. We are thrilled to have connected with him and look forward to the energy he will bring to our work and to our customers.”
Prior to joining Atlas, Herrmann served as Library Sales Manager, Academic and Corporate Accounts for East View Information Services, Inc., working to deliver scholarly print and electronic resources from around the globe to Western academic and other institutions. In his nearly 20 years in the library industry, he has held sales leadership positions with ProQuest, Equinox Software, and SirsiDynix. He holds a Master’s in Library Science from the University of South Carolina, where he received a Beta Phi Mu Honor Society Academic Achievement Award.
“Atlas Systems has an excellent reputation in the library world for the quality of their products and the high value they place on customer relationships,” Herrmann said. “As I got to know the team, I realized what a good fit this was for me, in terms of the culture of the company as well as the types of products and services they deliver. I’m excited to build my knowledge of their products and introduce them to more academic and special collections libraries, archives, and historical societies.”
In welcoming Herrmann to Atlas Systems, President and Chief Executive Officer Jason Glover commented that the growth and success of Atlas led the management team to the decision to bring on an additional resource to focus exclusively on marketing and sales. “Rob is an excellent complement to our marketing and sales team,” said Glover. “In addition to his years of experience in our industry, he has an MLIS degree, so he really understands libraries and the challenges they continue to face. We are confident he will expand our reach both nationally and internationally beyond what we have had the capacity to do thus far, helping more libraries and archives improve productivity and enhance service to their users.”
