Atlas Systems Expands Special Collections and Archives Support Team
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – May 10, 2019 – Atlas Systems, the leading provider of time-saving solutions for libraries, special collections, and archives announced today the addition of new staff and other staff changes that will provide additional resources to meet the needs of the company’s growing customer base. The organizational changes include a new staff member and changes in the management team to enhance support to the special collections and archives community as well as re-organization of the development and information technology (ITS) teams.
Valerie Addonizio will join the Atlas team as Special Collections and Archives Technical Consultant. Previously, Addonizio served as Description Management Archivist at Johns Hopkins University, Special Collections, in Baltimore MD. “We are delighted to welcome Valerie to the Atlas team,” said Stephanie Spires, Atlas Chief Operations and Service Officer. “In addition to expanding the number of professional librarians on our team, she brings a wealth of knowledge about ArchivesSpace and the archives community. With her expertise, we look forward to providing an even higher, more focused level of support for ArchivesSpace users.”
Spires also announced an additional change to the Special Collections and Archives team. Katie Gillespie, currently Aeon Implementation Consultant, will lead the team as Special Collections and Archives Program Manager. In this capacity she will work to build a more comprehensive suite of software and service solutions to better meet the needs of Aeon and ArchivesSpace users.
As Atlas Systems continues to experience steady growth in its service offerings and customer base, Chief Technology Officer Dustin Stokes announced changes in the Development team designed to facilitate faster response to market and customer requirements. Matt Calsada will take over the day to day management of the development operations as Development Manager. “Matt has been a key member of the Atlas dev team for many years and has progressively stepped forward to take on more responsibility,” Stokes said. “As we continue to grow and expand our product offerings, having a team member focused specifically on the development effort will allow us to enhance and expand our products more quickly with an increased focus on quality.”
Stokes also announced a closer internal partnership between the Development and ITS teams. Kathy Poston will continue to lead the ITS team as Director of Information and Technology Services, reporting to Stokes to maximize synergy between the two teams. “The rapid growth of Atlas over the last few years has increased the demands on our ITS team as they support not only our hosted customers but also our internal infrastructure,” Stokes said. “This exciting organizational change will allow our excellent ITS team to have closer access to our Dev resources to resolve problems and explore new technology options. We anticipate this will help us automate more processes to increase our efficiency and yield a higher level of service to customers as well as to our own staff.”
