Atlas Systems Closes FY2017 with Sales and Service Growth
Atlas Systems, the leading provider of time-saving solutions for libraries, special collections, and archives announced today their end-of-fiscal-year results, summarizing growth in sales as well as an expansion of their service offerings.

Along with new sales for Aeon, Specht said support for Access Services remains strong. More than 120 institutions now use Ares to manage course reserves and ILLiad licensees continue to recognize the value of periodic review of their processes with Tune-ups and Concierge help with projects they don’t have the time or expertise to do.

While continuing ongoing support for the Access Services community, Specht said that Atlas Systems is also gaining a better understanding of additional ways to serve the special collections and archives community. This includes the partnership with ArchivesSpace that enables Atlas to offer server hosting, data conversion, and implementation services to ArchivesSpace users. Atlas also has greatly expanded its documentation and offerings in the Video Training Library to assist institutions as they implement and use ArchivesSpace software.

This fiscal year Atlas Systems also introduced Web Visibility Services, in partnership with Zepheira and the Library.Link Network. Atlas Systems’ Web Visibility Services transform an institution’s special collections content into Linked Data where it can be found in Web searches or used in communication channels such as social media, blogs, newsletters, or event calendars. “Over the past year we have expanded the services Atlas Systems provides to help special collections, archives, and historical societies increase efficiency and enhance delivery of service,” Specht said. “We’ve focused attention on how we interact with other systems to deliver a seamless integration—whether it’s Linked Data, ArchivesSpace, an integrated library system, or other systems used to manage offsite storage or digital assets. We are gratified that the special collections, historical society, and archives communities are turning to Atlas Systems to provide the solutions they need to manage access to their collections and increase their visibility.”
Atlas Systems will be at the ALA Annual Conference June 23-26, 2017 (Booth #1729) to discuss Ares, Aeon, ArchivesSpace, and Web Visibility Services.
In summing up the fiscal year, Specht commented that it was a year of enhanced learning for Atlas Systems. “This year we really gained clarity of focus on the two distinct communities we are well suited to serve—Access Services and Special Collections/Archives.
