Atlas Systems and Zepheira Announce Advanced Linked Data Products for Special Collections and Archives

Atlas Systems, the leading provider of time-saving solutions for libraries, special collections, and archives announced today an expansion of their partnership with Zepheira to enhance the development and delivery of their Web Visibility Services. The two companies will be exhibiting together at the ACRL Conference in Baltimore, MD (Booth #913) from March 22-24, 2017.

Atlas Systems’ Web Visibility Services transform an institution’s special collections content into Linked Data where it can be found in Web searches or used in communication channels such as social media, blogs, newsletters, or event calendars.

"The Web is unprecedented as a communication platform for connecting people, information and knowledge together,” said Eric Miller, president of Zepheira and co-founder of The Library.Link Network. “Libraries, museums and archives have traditionally curated an enormous amount of high-quality data but have largely been disconnected from this platform. Through this new joint effort with Atlas Systems we expect to leverage the power of the Web to shine a new light on these hidden gems by making it easier to find, use and connect with people in new and unprecedented ways.”

Dan Specht, Atlas Systems’ vice president of sales and marketing, commented, “From our involvement with special collections, archives and historical societies, we recognize the importance of increased visibility for these institutions. The challenge is to deliver this increased visibility in a streamlined and efficient way. Working with Zepheira simplifies the process for these institutions to transform their data from the systems they are currently using and publish it to the Library.Link Network where it can be seen, found, and take on new life through a variety of communication channels.”
