Privacy policy for the Aeon Catalog Import Chrome extension.
Last Updated: March 30, 2026
Aeon Catalog Import is a Chrome extension developed by Atlas Systems, Inc. that enables library staff to import catalog records from external library systems directly into Aeon, Atlas Systems' special collections request management software. This policy describes what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored.
When you visit a catalog page that matches a configured pattern (e.g., a Primo or Alma full display page), the extension reads:
The extension does not read, collect, or access any other browsing data, personal information, browsing history, cookies, form inputs, or page content beyond what is described above.
The record identifiers and catalog page URL are sent exclusively to the Aeon server URL that you configure in the extension. This is your institution's own Aeon server. The data is used solely to populate catalog record information in the Aeon staff client for the purpose of processing special collections requests.
No data is sent to Atlas Systems, third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or any server other than the Aeon server you configure.
The extension stores the following in Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local):
No data is stored remotely by the extension. All locally stored data can be removed by uninstalling the extension.
The extension requests optional host permissions for the specific catalog domains you use. These permissions are requested on a per-domain basis and are used solely to inject the catalog detection script that identifies importable records. You can review and revoke these permissions at any time through Chrome's extension settings.
The extension does not share data with any third parties. All data flows exclusively between your browser and your institution's Aeon server.
All communication between the extension and your Aeon server is conducted over HTTPS, ensuring data is encrypted in transit.
This extension is a professional tool intended for use by library staff. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
