Going Live with Borrowing
After the trainer leaves, your library will be live with Lending and you can continue using ILLiad to process your daily Lending requests. You can now schedule an online session to cover the Borrowing process. A good reference to use during this portion of your implementation is the After the Trainer Leaves handout.
Borrowing Online Classes
When your library is ready, you can sign up for an OCLC ILLiad Borrowing class online. The sessions are on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 1-3pm eastern time. This format allows for staff to attend without disrupting daily operations and gives time for attendees to review the items from each day. The first day covers the basics of Borrowing processing and sending requests out on OCLC. The second day covers request maintenance and how to process unfilled or conditionalized requests. The third day covers some basic customization options for the web interface, Word documents and email templates.
To choose a session to attend, please visit our Training site's Upcoming Class Schedule. New licensees are limited to one seat per class for each processing library, so you may want to arrange for a training room and speaker phone if you will have a lot of staff attending. If you have questions about any of this process, please contact Atlas at
Who to Contact for Support
Throughout your implementation of both Lending and Borrowing, you can contact Atlas for support at any time. Once you are live with both modules, you can contact OCLC Customer Support for assistance with OCLC ILLiad. OCLC has several support staff trained specifically in ILLiad to help you optimize the software. More information on support contacts is available on our Support page.
