The Ares client allows the library/Reserves Staff to maintain Ares class data and user data, manage the items posted to the Ares Web site, and retrieve items needed by instructors.
Once the staff user logs onto the client, they are brought to the Main Menu. The following features are on the Main Menu:
Refresh Icon - The “Yin and Yang” blue arrows once clicked will refresh the window that shows the statuses and the number of items in each. The client refreshes automatically whenever you return to the main menu, so there is not a need to click this after returning from another screen.
There are two tabs on the Ares Main Menu. “Reserve Items” shows the items and their statuses. Clicking on a status will open up the list of those items so you can see more detail. The other tab, “System Information” shows various system statistics to give you an overview of the usage of your Ares system.
The Barometer on the right side of the Main Menu is a visual representation of the number of items in the various statuses that need fulfilled in some way.
