The list of statuses in this menu represent the default statuses in Ares that represent items that need processed in some way.
Awaiting Reserves Processing – These items are needed by the instructor for their class. This might be an item that needs to be retrieved from the stacks or sent as an ILL request or requested form the Acquisitions department.
Awaiting Review by Staff – The items here were posted by the instructor but need final review by the Reserve Staff to make sure the item is appropriate or is an allowable file type. The DocumentType table in the Ares Administration Interface has a “Force Review” setting that allows you to determine which file types need to be reviewed by Reserves staff.
Awaiting File Type Resolution – If Ares does not recognize the file extension on a posted item, it is necessary for the Reserves staff to identify it before it can be posted (and to decide if those file types will be allowed).
In Stacks Searching – Those items that are currently being retrieved from the stacks for posting to the Ares system.
Awaiting Scanning – The items that have either been retrieved from the stacks or brought to the library by an instructor and has to be scanned to the Ares system.
