ILLiad Version 7.2 - available for download January 30, 2007

ILLiad Version 7.2 Overview and Release Notes - Download the detailed list of all changes in the ILLiad components. Every ILLiad component is updated in Version 7.2 and while most changes are transparent, there are some major changes to authentication, the web interface and library address maintenance.

ILLiad Version 7.2 FAQ - You all asked great questions during the four preview sessions via WebEx. We've compiled nearly all those questions and a few others into a FAQ for Version 7.2. In addition to the overview and release notes, this is a great document to read before the update to get your proverbial ducks in a row.

Updating to ILLiad 7.2 - Step by Step - For most of you it's been at least a year since you've updated your ILLiad server. This two-page cheatsheet is helpful to have next to the keyboard while you're running the update. The steps in this document are for self-hosted servers. Institutions hosted by Atlas or OCLC can schedule their updates with their hosting provider and all these steps will be done for them.

ILLiad Version 7.2 Web Editing QRC - While this document is not a replacement for all the documentation on the ILiad 7.2 web interface, it's a good sheet to keep handy next to the keyboard while making your web edits.

ILLiad Web Previewer - Use the Web Previewer to edit the 7.2 formatted web pages before updating as well as your current web pages, if desired. The Web Previewer provides sample values for the tags within the web interface for user information, citations, status lines and outstanding requests. This makes it significantly easier to visualize your final layout.

ILLiad Version 7.2 Documentation - Another major change in ILLiad version 7.2 is a re-designed set of documentation. The web documentation is not only indexed by Atlas' Google box, but has its own built in index and searches. No matter what subject you're looking for, you can find User and Administrative help in one place.

Authentication Changes

In ILLiad Version 7.2 all of the authentication methods for the Borrowing web interface have been updated and streamlined. While all previous authentication methods are still supported, some have slightly different features and nearly all the keys to customize them have changed in the Customization Manager.

If you are using the ImportValidation to authenticate your users, you must change your import script to add entries to the UserValidation table instead of the ImportValidation table. Immediately after your update, OCLC customer support can help you move your current entries from ImportValidation to UserValidation so that users can login to the system.
