Atlas Systems Ends 2016 with Strong Growth in Sales and Service

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – December 15, 2016 – Atlas Systems, the leading provider of time-saving solutions for libraries, announced today that 2016 was a strong year for the company, with expanded sales in Ares and Aeon and growth in the number of institutions subscribing to the Concierge Service.

“We know the sales cycle in academic libraries, special collections, and archives can be long, so we are grateful to end 2016 on a high note,” said Dan Specht, Atlas’ CFO/VP Sales and Marketing. “We’ve expanded our reach into different types of institutions and are especially excited about our first Aeon installation in Australia at the University of Melbourne. It’s been a great year, as well, for Concierge as more institutions recognize the value of having extra, expert help for the projects they don’t have time or staff to do.”

Specht says other areas of service will continue to grow in 2017. “Every year we learn more about the needs of the archives and special collections community. In 2016 we became an ArchiveSpace Registered Service Provider and launched ArchivesSpace hosting services. As more ArchivesSpace customers work with us we will better understand how we can enhance this service. We also anticipate growth in the area of Web Visibility Services through our linked data partnership with Zepheira. All in all, we expect 2017 to be another year of innovation for Atlas and our customers.”

ALA Midwinter Meeting

Atlanta, GA
Jan 20-24, 2017

ALA Midwinter Plans: The Support Team is IN
We never feel we have enough quality time to spend with our customers while we’re at ALA conferences. So for ALA Midwinter in Atlanta we’re trying something different. Instead of a booth, we’re “setting up shop” on Saturday and Sunday at the Legal Sea Foods Atlanta, near the Convention Center. Staff will rotate in and out as they attend other meetings and conference sessions, but someone will be there 12:30PM-3:30PM each day. If there’s a specific person you want to talk to and a specific time you have available, email us at to tell us whom you want to meet with and when so we can reserve your spot. Otherwise, drop in for a bite to eat and friendly conversation.

DATES: Saturday, January 21 and Sunday, January 22
          TIME: 12:30PM-3:30PM

ALA Midwinter Plans: Food and Fun
We’re happy to report we’re bringing back an evening social event in Atlanta.  Mark your calendar now and plan to join Atlas staff and your ILLiad, Ares, and Aeon colleagues for good food and engaging conversation.

          DATE: Saturday, January 21
TIME: Drinks and nibble food starting at 5:30pm, followed by dinner at 6:30pm—come for the
parts of the evening that fit your schedule.

320 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30308
Please RSVP for dinner to Tina Schaarschmidt

And, there’s more fun, because ALA shouldn’t be all business. We’re planning an Atlas Challenge game (with a special prize), a tour of a place we’re keeping secret for now, and a gift for following us and meeting up with us in all kinds of places, and more. You won’t want to miss any of it, so to keep track of us (since we won’t have booth), be sure to “like” us on Facebook and follow our hashtags #wheresAtlas #alamw17.
